A George IV pair cased silver watch with a rare rack lever escapement by Robert Roskell of Liverpool. The pair cases have a smooth finish with no dents both cases have good hinges & close firmly & evenly. They have matching marks, the Chester silver hallmark for 1820 & the case makers mark NL. The dial is very good, there is a slight chip outside of the chapter ring at IX which has been filled. The movement is protected will the original clip-on brass dust cover. The movement is signed Rt Roskell LIVERPOOL 2486. The balance cock has a diamond end stone & is marked PATENT. It is running well & keeping good time for this type of watch, gaining approx' 15 minutes per day.
