RARE c.1890 FOUR COMPARTMENT SCENT PERFUME BOTTLE |

A rare, ingenious, and very handsome gilt metal and crystal scent spray, divided into four individual compartments for a choice of fragrances. Unscrewing the bottle allows access to the four glass compartments; by turning the chisel pointed tops, the metal spray tubes are removed for easy decanting. A twist of the gilt metal top releases the pump action plunger, and by unscrewing one of the chained nozzle caps and pushing the plunger, air is pumped into the chambers, and a fine spray of the chosen scent is released. The container has four internal glass walls, the exterior is engraved with ribbons and flower sprays, the base is enhanced with a cut radial burst. The edges of the metal top are patterned to aid grip. Circa 1890, French, the front registration stamped "Bte SGDG" underneath the nozzles.

Dimensions: A little under 6in/15.2cm high in closed position.
