An American made Half Hunter wristwatch by Waltham. Originally made as a fob watch, then converted to a wristwatch, by shortening the winding stem, removing the bow & adding strap lugs. This would have been done during the first world war, when it became popular to wear a wristwatch rather than use a pocket watch. The very ornate case is 1,5/16" (35mm) diameter excluding the crown & lugs. It is 10 carat yellow gold with a 2 tone blue enamel chapter ring. The dial has no chips or cracks & is signed A W Co WALTHAM MASS. The movement is signed Am Watch Co WALTHAM MASS ROYAL. SAFETY PINION. It has the serial number 4936435 which dates the watch to 1890. Fitted with a new Hirsch leather strap.
 Condition: Excellent
 Dimensions: 1,5/16" (35mm) excluding crown & lugs
