A Georgian Scottish pair-cased verge watch with matching silver cases both have the case makers mark TG & the London silver hallmark ( crowned Leopards head )for 1808. The outer case is good with some dings around the rear edge, the hinge is very good, closes firmly, with some slight gaps, the catch button is intact, there are no engravings. The inner case is very good, just a slight ding on the rear next to the winding hole, the hinge is very good, it closes firmly & evenly, there are no engravings. The movement is covered with a brass dustcover signed Lau Dalgleish No 514 EDINBURGH. The verge movement is signed Laur Dalgleish EDINBURGH No 514, it has an engraved & pierced masked balance cock with a diamond endstone. It is running well & keeps very good time for a 200 year old verge, gaining approx’ 10-15 minutes per day. The outer case has an early watch paper signed W JOHNSON. HIGH WYCOMBE.
