Fine Quality Sewing Case stamped by the maker "W & J Milne Princess". The quality is outstanding as you can see it has embossed gilded decoration both inside and out. All of the gilded brass fittings are original, even the hinges are heavily engraved as are the lock plates and even the exterior hinge parts are engraved at the back of the case. It is lined throughout with beautiful moire silk which is in unused condition, apart from signs of age from being moved about over the years with some of the gilding worn but I do not think this box has ever been used. The lid has the original gilded leather storage strap that holds the most attractive sewing tools with lovely Mother of Pearl handles and a fine pair of scissors these have some slight tarnish but nothing to worry about. There are obviously two piece missing at the bottom with two unfilled sections but apart from this it is all there. This is really a top quality Sewing case dating to the mid 1800's, what more can I tell you about this one, it is divine and would make a wonderful addition to any Antique Collection or a lovely gift for someone.
