A fine and scarce example from a very decorative set of six black line on buff illustrated tiles, here showing a young girl carrying a heavy pail of water. She is climbing up steep steps from the shore; boats, figures and birds can be seen in the distance. Circa 1882, unmarked, but almost certainly by company artist Owen Goodwin - see other initialled examples - possibly the set referred to in the Maw archives reference D/Maw/9/10 "Nursery Figures". Fully marked to the reverse with circular "Floreat Salopia", as well as "Maw & Co." and "Broseley Salop". Framed ready for hanging, card mount back representative for all tiles. The other five motifs from this series are also on offer.
 Condition: Fair
Dimensions: 6in/15.2cm square, frame ¾in/1.9cm wide.
