A fine and scarce example from a very decorative set of six black line on buff illustrated tiles, here showing a young girl on a tree swing in a park landscape. Swifts fly above her head on the left, a house can be seen on the right. Circa 1882, signed "O.G." - as letters carved in the bark of the tree - for company artist Owen Goodwin; possibly the set referred to in the Maw archives reference D/Maw/9/10 "Nursery Figures". Fully marked to the reverse with circular "Floreat Salopia", as well as "Maw & Co." and "Broseley Salop". Framed ready for hanging, card mount back representative for all tiles. The other five motifs from this series are also on offer.
 Condition: Fair
Dimensions: 6in/15.2cm square, frame ¾in/1.9cm wide.
