A charming porcelain scent bottle in the shape of a speckled bird's egg. The bottle has a cork lined silver screw top and silver collar; the body has a beige satin sheen ground and is hand decorated in notes of brown. Base of the egg has the registration number 20772 issued in 1885 to James Macintyre & Co Ltd, Washington China Works, Burslem. Lid hallmarks rubbed but readable for Birmingham 1887, maker's mark "CS FS" for Charles Saunders and Francis Shepherd.
