|
A finely decorated, porcelain dessert dish by Samuel Alcock, made around 1835. The moulded and pierced plate is enriched with a very good quality, hand painted, design of summer flowers in a landscape. The base is marked with the hand painted pattern number, 547. Although now comparatively little known, during the first half of the nineteenth century Alcocks were of a stature to rival both Spode and Minton both in size and in the quality of their output.
