C19th Century Rosewood Writing Slope
This beautiful item which hasnt been patched is in lovely condition and features all original highly figured rosewood veneers to all sides and the top. It has a fully working lock with brass daisy shaped key escution with inset brass motif to the lid.The lid opens to reveal a sloping gilded tooled writing surface in claret and gold again all beautifully bordered by figured rosewood veneers, brass catches and hinges. One end lifts to reveal a writing paper compartment whilst the other is fitted for pen, ink and nibs.
