Pembrokeshire - Charles I. Letters Patent of Charles I, dated 18th December 1634, granting to William Lucye, DD, and Ralph Hughes of London, extensive property in Pembrokeshire, including: the Manor of Walwinscastle [Walwyns Castle] and Sick, with Sick Mill, property in Harroldston [Haroldston], Perston, and Winterton, part of the lands of Sir John Perrott; also the Manor of Eastington[?], a tenement called Chenton, property in Horston, West Popton, East Popton, Pennar alias West Pennar, Venny Lake, Glinbigh Mill, Welleston alias Wolvaston, Morston, Studdock in the parish of Nangle and Ewingston in the parish of Monoton, much of it formerly the property of Jasper, Duke of Bedford, a large, informative and impressive deed on two membranes of parchment, written in Latin with initial portrait of Charles I and intricate border, a little soiled, with fragment of the Great Seal remaining on silk laces. Jasper (c.1430-95) was made Duke of Bedford in 1485 when his nephew Henry VII acceded to the throne. (1)
