This piece is technically extremely well executed.
The vase has an elongated ovoid body, with a slim tall neck and a wide everted rim. The surface of the vase has a slightly ‘gritty’ feel and is glazed in a pale turquoise, which blends into a honey colour at the ‘shoulder’. The upper part of the body and neck are unglazed.
The base is unglazed, revealing the underlying ceramic body to be white in colour. There is a small impressed potter’s mark, consisting of a capital ‘D’ surrounding a small cross. I believe this to be the mark of Graham Newing.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
Condition: Perfect.
Dimensions: The vase has a height of approximately 17.5cm.
