A collection of Indian temperance posters, block printed in colours and linen backed, comprising a run of eight numbered posters issued by the Central Propaganda Board of Madras, designed by C. Paramasivan dated between March 1929 and November 1930, with some blocks by Prince Studio and printed by the Waverley Press, the Law Printing House or the Royal Printing Works, with a full set of numbers 1 to 8 in Indian script and duplicates of numbers 1 to 4 in English, heights 68cm, widths variable between 82 and 102cm; also four smaller posters numbered 7 to 10 depicting a man and crocodile, from Vimochanam, Gandhi Ashram, Tiruchengodu, three other Indian posters and a World Prohibition Federation poster No.2, printed on paper in London (see sample illustration)
