A pair of Early Staffordshire Standing Whippets with Hares

A mid 19th century pair of Staffordshire Greyhounds. This nicely painted pair are standing on naturalistic bases and each holds a hare in their mouth. The greyhounds have russet toned coats and have well-defined features and detail with small patches of bocage to decorate the naturalisic setting. The defining features of this pair which help to date them is the colour of the hares which is brown (later ones were painted grey) and the fact that they stand four square on their bases with no support. The pair are in very good condition - see condition report below. A very fine pair for display and as part of a collection.
Condition: Very Good. Some crazing, couple of small spots of paint rub, mainly on the rabbits. Minor nick under the base.
