Thomas and William Chawner - one superb spoon

Excellent 1763 spoon, an example of the development from Hanoverian to Old English. There is a very short spine (near the terminal). There is an extended drop - and this is a clear unworn example. The bowl, though, is still large and ovoid - this one is virtually perfect. Hallmarks show clearly the Makers as Thomas and William Chawner; the Lion Passant for Sterling Silver , and the Date Letter for 1763/1764. There are family initials at the terminal - with a high level of engraving. Overall, a really superb spoon. It is hard to see this one go - don't miss it ...!
Condition: Excellent. No damage. The Leopard's Head is only just visible in part. There is a very slight roughing to the silver at one side near the terminal - but absolutely nothing to worry about. This is one of those spoons with a wonderful patina - built up over 246 years!
Dimensions: Roughly 21 cm in length, with the ovoid bowl about 8cm long, i.e. over one third of the whole length
