A fantastic French solid silver vesta case in Fabergé style, of the highest quality, and a rare item. The case is crisply and deeply engraved in a starburst radiating from the cabochon sapphire, set in a gold straddle.
The base also has a gold thumb press, ensuring smooth opening of the incredibly tightly sprung hinge, which is beautifully engineered.
The case has the striker to the right hand side when viewed from the front.
This is an extremely rare quality vesta, seldom seen on the market, in very good condition. There is only a small wear mark to the side below the lozenge, shown in picture and a tiny ding on one corner
