A fine early 19thc pair of oval dessert dishes from the desirable Staffordshire pottery of New Hall with the famous New Hall scallop shell borders.
The elaborately shaped rims are richly gilded and moulded in high relief with scallop shells, fleur de Lis and scrolls. The wide border are further gilded with flower sprays over the cobalt blue ground and inset with four superb painted flower sprays. The twin handles, with thier centre scallop shells, sre fully gilt to the pierced scrolls. The centre reserves are painted with large flower groups of pink blowsy roses and delicate harebells.
Hand painted 2930 inside footrims.
 Condition: Excellent. Fine: no chips or cracks or restoration. Gilding and enamels fresh and strong.
