A Minton Coffee Can
|
Dateline: Circa 1800 |
Item# 34302 |
A porcelain coffee can produced at the Minton factory around 1800. White ground, decorated with a hand painted landscape scene in black enamel. The painting on these early versions of this pattern is of far better quality than those produced after c.1805, when the painting becomes much freer, almost slap dash. The work on this piece is much in the style of a late eighteenth century watercolour. The pattern number, 119, is hand written on the base, in black.
Condition: Very Good. No chips, cracks or signs of wear.
Dimensions: 6.0cm high x 6.5cm in diameter
