A Minton Cabinet Plate

A Minton cabinet plate on an ivory ground with a gilt 'dontil' edge. The centre of the plate is decorated with a stalk of bamboo and branches, on which sit two birds watching two butterflies. All the decoration is executed in the raised gold, platinum and bronze technique. The base bears the impressed Mintons mark and that for the year, 1887. There is also the printed crowned globe mark and below this another inscribed: 'Manufactured for F & C Osler 100 Oxford St. London'. This pattern was first introduced by Minton in 1882.
Condition: Excellent. The decoration shows no signs of wear, the whole being in excellent, original condition with no chips, cracks or restoration.
