A Delightful Miniature Jug
|
Dateline: Circa 1825 |
Item# 33817 |
A very fine, miniature porcelain jug made probably by one of the major Staffordshire factories, around 1825. It is unmarked, and therefore no reliable attribution can be given. These pieces, often refered to at the time as toys, were intended not as childrens playthings, but more for adult amusement. This jug would almost certainly have formed part of a larger 'toy set'.
Condition: Very Good. Just a fine hairline crack to the base of the handle. Otherewise this piece is in sound, original condition, with no signs of wear
Dimensions: Height: 8.3cm.
