SAMPSON MORDAN SILVER & ENAMEL SCENT PERFUME BOTTLE

A rare and fine Sampson Mordan sterling silver ovoid scent bottle, with a cork lined screw cap. The bottle comes in the original box, and is masterfully hand decorated in polychrome vitreous enamel with a pug's head. Hallmarked for London 1889, box lining stamped in gold with a crown and retailer's name "Mansfield, Dressing Bag Maker, Grafton Street, Dublin".
Condition: Good. Some age and use wear to the box and lining; slight, very short and unobtrusive line indent to the screw top; light surface age and use wear; nothing further found; hallmarks on the lid worn, but very good on the interior screw rim; good screw fit; box hinge firm and good lid closure - if you have any questions about this item, contact me.
