This is a stunning example of a decorative ale glass, probably dating to about 1770.
The conical shaped bowl is continuous with the plain stem. One side of the bowl bears a cut design featuring a hop with associated foliage. Opposite this are two ears of barley, which are mirror images of each other, their stems crossing over to form a single motif. The foot is plain with a central rough pontil.
It has a height of approximately 14.5cm, with a diameter at the rim of about 5.7cm and at the foot of about the same.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
