A very rare Isle of Wight pocket watch from the mid Victorian period in excellent condition. The case has the London hallmark for 1866, the case makers mark JH & the number 12239 (39 on the inside of the rear cover). There are no dents, the front & rear covers are hinged, both close firmly & evenly. The engine turning hasbeen worn almost smooth from years of polshing. The 'glass' is a later perspex replacement.The dial is also excellent with no chips or cracks.
The fusee lever movement has a jewelled end stone. It is signed W H Alford VENTNOR No 12239, it is running well & keeping good time.
Condition: Excellent.
