A finely sculpted bronze portrait bust by the Russian American sculptor Saul Baizerman (1889-1957). Very possibly a likeness of the daughter of the famous portrait and ballet photographer E. O. Hoppé (1878 – 1972). Hoppé was the founder and owner of the Dorien Leigh Gallery, Millais House, London, where Baizerman held his first European solo exhibition in 1924. Image #4 shows Muriel Hoppé, circa 1926. The bronze has a pleasing dark brown to black patina and is mounted on a tall natural wood block stand. Signed to the reverse "S. Baizerman". Family owned from inception, the provenance and ownership credentials of this bronze are genuine and guaranteed.  Condition: Very Good. The wooden stand has very light age and use wear.
