PORCELAIN DROP SCENT PERFUME BOTTLE WITH COUPLE MOTIF

PORCELAIN DROP SCENT PERFUME BOTTLE WITH COUPLE MOTIF

A drop shape porcelain scent bottle, with a brass hinged lid and collar, suspensory chain, and glass stopper. The pale blue on white ground is decorated with a hand embellished polychrome transfer print of a courting couple in Empire style dress in an outdoor setting; the bottle is further embellished with silver gilt curls, scrolls and relief flower heads. Circa 1880, probably Continental. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch.

Condition: Good

Dimensions: Height 9cm/3.75in.
