A real mystery item! This is a small model of a bird, beautifully and expertly crafted in translucent plique-a-jour work on a brass filigree armature. Besides being a very decorative thing, it was obviously made to be a thing of purpose. That's because I can find no other explanation for the two sharp pointed beak-shaped pieces to either side of the head. I don't have a clue what use this fine little object might have been made for or where and when it was made. That aside, this is still an exquisitely beautiful novelty and obviously a lot of craft and work has gone into its creation. If only it could speak!
 Condition: Excellent
