A Victorian pocket watch signed by Joyce Murray of Leverington St Kings Sq London.The case has a snap on front & hinged rear cover & dustcover, all close firmly & evenly. The rear is smooth with 1 tiny ding at I, it is engraved with the initials WYF. Inside are the London 18ct gold hallmarks, the case makers mark HDG & the serial number 7171. The dustcover is engraved. PRESENTED TO W Y Fullerton BY FRIENDS WHO ATTENDED HIS BIBLE READINGS IN SHEFFIELD. AS A TOKEN OF CHRISTIAN ESTEEM & GRATITUDE. JULY 1881. Inside is also hallmarked. The edge of the case has some slight bruising on the right. The glass is excellent, as is the dial which has no cracks or chips, it is signed JOYCE MURRAY LONDON 2/7171. The English lever movement is signed Joyce Murray. Leverington St Kings Sq London. 2/7171. It is running well & keeping good time. The hands are pin set, to move them, push in the pin on the edge at I & turn the crown. A rare example of a Victorian watch with a ladys signature.
