Ancient Greece, Greek Colonies in South Italy. (Ca late 6th Century BC). Corinthian Geometric or East Greek
Large Decorated Wine Chalice, painted inside with concentric bands of red slip. The outside of the bowl has a frieze of 'S' shapes and supported by a radiate star eminating from the top of the banded and striped conical stem. The shape is rather is rather similar to Etruscan Bucchero black-ware chalices of a later date.
